Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof; only say the word and my servant will be healed. Matthew 8:8

Dear Saint Robert Community,

Advent has officially started. We will be celebrating the Immaculate Conception of Mary on Friday and 4th grade has worked hard to prepare the mass for us. Tomorrow night is the San Bruno Park Tree Lighting where our choir will sing and word is Santa will appear to help kick off the season. It is always a fun community event.

All classes are celebrating this season in a variety of ways, creating advent wreath art, reading all about the nativity, building gingerbread houses with upper grade buddies, the list goes on and on. Just for fun, there will be a Christmas (colors) sweater day on December 15. I’m sure we will be seeing quite a bit of red and green that day! Please be sure to follow the handbook information for a “free dress” day.

Our annual K-5 Kidstock show is right around the corner. Everyone (K-5) should have received an e-mail home with instructions about times, and costumes. Band students will be starting off the evening at 6:30p.m. This is always a very beautiful evening, one that the children are very excited about.

Many thanks to all for your wonderful participation in the Spellathon, Mixed Bags, and Sees Candy. We were still receiving pledge monies as of last week, but hope to publish the results in next week’s letter.

I know many of you are working hard to get ready for Christmas while completing all of your other responsibilities. I pray that you will be able to make some quiet time to just enjoy advent, the anticipation of His coming.

God Bless You and Your Families,
Mrs. Wright

P.S. Did you know our 6th grade science students each made a solar powered cooker last week? Amazing!

At this event Capuchino’s Community Wellness Commission has informed us they will be collecting teddy bears (slightly used) There will be bins located at the San Bruno Rec Center for collection. The teddy bears will be donated to the Parca Foundation’s drive ‘It’s All About Smiles’ where the teddy bears will be given to children with developmental disabilities.
