..to all who are beloved of God in Rome, called as saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 1:7
Dear Saint Robert Community,
Yesterday’s Halloween festivities were so much fun. I think after Grandparent/Special Person’s day, then Red Ribbon Week, then Halloween, we are ready for a few days of just school! Thank you to our 8th graders for leading our Halloween Parade, and for showing your 1st grade buddies such a good time illustrating your Halloween booklets. We had a beautiful mass this morning in honor of All Saint’s Day, then right after Mass, our 8th graders departed for their CYO Retreat. Please say a prayer that all attendees are able to cultivate an even closer relationship with our Heavenly Father.
Parent Teacher Conferences begin very soon. The link to use for sign ups is located in attachments. Thank you for your commitment to these very important meetings. As a reminder, the 10th (Nonni’s Pizza Day), 13th, and 14th, are 12:00 dismissal days to accommodate conferences.
Last week, we also had our first assembly with Haper for Kids. The concentration was on the cornerstones of John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success, the pyramid that encourages you to do your very best. Each child was given a small poster of the pyramid, encased in plastic. Please talk with your child about this amazing program and what it can provide as character building tools. We can’t be successful with this program without you.
God Bless You and Your Families,

Yes we “CAN” - It’s once again time for St. Robert School’s Annual Yes We “Can” Help Canned Food Drive. Please have your student(s) bring in a non-expired can of food to donate to the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Donations will be collected by the 7th grade on one day only–November 8, 2017. If all families participate, we “can” really put a dent in hunger this Holiday Season. Thank you in advance!
Texas Hold E’m Canceled - Due to low registration, the Athletics Texas Hold em fundraising event on Saturday, November 4 will be canceled. The Athletic Board appreciates all that have contributed or planned to contribute to the event and hope we can count on you at a later date. Our hope is that we will be able to find a date this Spring to try again. While we haven’t had a lot fundraisers in the past we hope to create a culture moving forward of doing so. Any raised funds will allow us to expand and improve our programs, scholarship athletes and reduce registration fees in the future. More important, I hope events like this will bring our community together around athletics, much like the festival and the dinner dance do. If any would like to contribute to discussion, planning or help in any way please email me. Thank you! Keith Spataro, SR Athletic Director, email@example.com

Respect for Life Essays - Many of you already know that our Archdiocese of San Francisco sponsors an essay writing contest each year. Students in Grades 1-8 write an original one-page essay, discussing the reflections and questions provided. (please see attachments). Essays will be judged on the student’s ability to articulate his or her understanding of issues, the message of the Catholic Church in relation to those issues, his or her own personal commitment to implementing the Church’s message and creativity. Last year we had a couple winners in this contest, so I hope this year to do the same. Please take a look at the Guidelines for this contest, decide if you would like to have your child participate, and send completed workto their classroom teacheron or before December 1st. Thank you!
